The annual Stage Queensland Technical Managers' Conference provides a unique opportunity for Queensland performing arts centre Technical and Operations Managers and staff to gather with industry colleagues and share ideas, policies and practises for the betterment of the arts sector as a whole and keep up-to-date with the latest sound, lighting and production trends and technologies on display by some of Australia's leading vendors at the intimate trade show. The event offers valuable networking and learning opportunities for delegates, vendors and industry, strengthening existing relationships and building new ones.
The 2020 Conference Program commences at 3pm on Sunday 2nd February with round-the-room member updates, technical presentations, a venue tour and conference / trade show welcome gathering with industry.
Delegates get down to business from 9:00am on Monday 3rd February with an opening keynote by special guest Brad Alcock, Lighting Designer, who will share his 25 plus years experience in helping to create large events within the entertainment industry around Australia and the world and why its is so important to focus on "keeping it real". On Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th February there's two full days of presentations, workshops and case studies by members and national experts on a range of topics including venue security, transitioning to LED lighting, health and wellbeing, technical training, human resources, and industry-specific training in AV, sound and lighting.
A highlight of the event will be venue tours of performing arts centres in the area including the new state-of-the-art Cairns Performing Arts Centre and Munro Martin Parklands, the unique Tanks Art Centre and the spectacular art-deco Innisfail Shire Hall.
