Bendigo Bank Business Breakfast: Innovation and Technology in Health, Aged and Community Care
This month we cover the health aged care and community care perspective on the role new and emerging technologies will play in providing more personalised, tailored and quality options. This presentation will draw on current research as well as emerging issues from Royal Commission Hearings and local and state considerations.
Dr George Margelis is a medical practitioner who has been deeply involved in technology for the last 30 years. In 2013 he was appointed an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Western Sydney with the TeleHealth Research & Innovation Laboratory (THRIL) and is also currently a member of Ignition Labs a start-up incubator in the health space as well as a number of advisory roles. In 2014 he was appointed to the IT in Aged Care Hall of Fame for his work in the use of technology in aged care.
Anne Livingstone has been the National Home Care Committee Chair for the Aged Care Industry Information Technology Council since 2012. Anne has over 35 years’ experience in the primary health care and community service sector, particularly focused on community-based care. She is currently the Project and Development Lead for Global Community Resourcing and also involved in a number of activities focused on the promotion of innovation and new emerging technologies in community care.
