Target audience for this event: Human service providers and frontline workers responding to volatile substance use (VSU) issues.

Training Details: Volatile substance use (VSU) is a complex issue which can have a harmful effect on individuals, families, and communities.

This workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of: 

  • Substances and methods of use,
  • The effects of VSU, 
  • Patterns and prevalence of use; 
  • The risks and harms associated with VSU.

The training will also include information about best-practice strategies to respond to VSU and provide an opportunity to explore harm reduction strategies that can be implemented at an individual, agency and community level.
