The role of the kitchen assistant in schools is varied and can be undertaken by staff with a range of skills and qualifications. This short course aims to cover the fundamentals for kitchen assistants considered to be common requirements across most schools. This includes ordering, storage and preparation of food, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and working collaboratively with others. Our Fundamentals for School Kitchen Assistants short course includes four online sessions plus access to five units from the hospitality training package contextualised for the school kitchen setting. The course is aimed at those who wish to upskill by doing some nationally recognised training or for those who wish to learn more about the essential aspects of the kitchen assistant role.
