The Contemporary Learning Hub is proud to be hosting our annual Boost Teacher Aide Summit. This Summit is designed to be a high quality, engaging and practical professional development opportunity for teacher aides working in Primary School contexts. The Summit features a mixture of workshops and presentations aimed to support teacher aides to develop the skills and knowledge they need to maximise the effectiveness of the time they spend with the students they work with.
Our theme for the 2021 Summit is ‘From Paper to Pixels’. A key focus of the Summit will be on how teacher aides can effectively support learners engaged in reading and writing tasks with both traditional and digital tools. The Summit will also introduce participants to a range of digital tools and apps they can use to increase student productivity and enable learners to share their knowledge and understanding in multimodal ways. Summit Highlights - The Raising Reading Comprehension session where participants will develop an understanding of the effective strategies and language they can use when supporting readers in a range of Primary school learning contexts.
- The Supporting Writers and Spelling Strategies that Stick sessions which will assist participants to know effective strategies and what they can say and do to help students take the next step.
- The From Paper to Pixels session where participants will explore how they can trade pencils and paper for digital tools to motivate and support writers. Digital tools shown will be a mixture of free and low-cost solutions.
- The Beyond the Page session which will showcase a range of practical strategies and digital tools you can use with students as part of before, during and after reading learning experiences.
- Our Summit Challenge which will provide participants with the opportunity to win one of our wonder-filled wellbeing prize packs.
* Please note that due to operating in a Covid Safe Environment, we are limiting the numbers of participants for this event in 2021. In the week prior to the Summit, we will send each registered participant out details of the venue at Meridan State College and a program providing an overview of the sequence of sessions and learning experiences on offer during the Summit. |
