Assessment for competency in CPR/BLS as per ARC guidelines for the current triennium.

Assessment for ECG recognition of shockable rhythms.

Update on the latest management of anaphylaxis.

RACGP Activity 109547 approved by the RACGP QI&CPD Program in the 2017-2019 triennium. Total 5 Category 2 points CPR.

Learning outcomes:

Competently perform BLS as per ARC guidelines.

Demonstrate ability to recognise shockable rhythms.

Demonstrate confidence in anaphylaxis management.


Prof. Hugh Grantham ASM, Prof of Paramedics at Flinders University
Previously Medical Director of the South Australian Ambulance Service for nearly 20 years.


Hugh is the South Australian branch chair of the Australian Resuscitation Council and chair of the acute coronary syndrome working group for the cardiac network of South Australia. He also has significant leadership roles in quality and safety at a state level chairing the deteriorating patient project and clinical handover project.

He is extensively involved in emergency medicine education including the advanced life support course as well as EMST and APLS. He is clinically active in the emergency department.
