What is business simulation?

Simulations immerse you in the subject and you work to solve the problems in a pressured environment - just like real life. In just a few hours, DIGITAL MediaPRO exposes you to the use of digital media, communicating with ‘digital natives’, and transforming media planning and execution. To succeed you will need to focus on understanding consumers and their decision-making process, deal with the complexity of a rapidly growing market, and manage communications effectively in a competitive environment. You will analyse complex information, decide on traditional versus digital channels and make decisions for five years worth of activity.

How to play?

The objective of this simulation is to define and execute the media strategy needed to achieve the company’s aggressive objective of driving their energy drink brand MOJO to undisputed market leadership within a period of five years.

You will make a multitude of decisions each year where you choose how you are going market your product to various target audiences in different markets. To succeed they will need to focus on understanding consumers and their decision-making process, deal with the complexity of a rapidly growing market, and manage communications effectively in a competitive environment.

Specifically your key challenges are:

  • Communicate with three different consumer segments about a single brand, across regions and seasonality
  • Use traditional and digital media to influence the purchase decisions of target consumers
  • Build market share and brand loyalty

The key criteria by which you are judged are:

Performance will be assessed each year on two measures - success in media management and business results.

Media management skills are assessed on how well participants connect with and influence consumers in their purchase decisions, summarised in the 'Funnel Index'.

The business results - sales, market share gain and improved profit - are combined in an Overall Performance Index (OPI)
