Trainee Registration

Travel support is available for neurology trainees approved by the Course Directors to attend from interstate and New Zealand.
This is possible through an education grant from UCB Australia.

Travel support covers the cost of return flights, transfers and accommodation for Australian interstate and New Zealand trainees to attend the ANZAN EEG Course. If approved for this support, trainees will receive two nights of accommodation (Friday 10th and Saturday 11th February) and return flights to Melbourne.

ESA Clinical Epilepsy Course alone
If attending the ESA Clinical Epilepsy Course alone, travel support covers return flights to Melbourne including transfers, arriving Friday morning and departing Friday evening, 10th February. It does not include any accommodation.

Trainees who wish to apply for the Support Package need to complete and sign the acknowledgement form. They must also provide a letter from their head of department confirming their status as a neurology trainee. Both documents need to be emailed to If approved, flights and accommodation arrangements will be confirmed by Seed Events.

Please note ALL Australian interstate and New Zealand trainees applying for the travel support package are required to pay the registration fees at time of registration. Should you not be accepted for the support and do not wish to attend, the registration fees will be refunded to you in full.

International Travel Grant Applicants

Travel grants will cover;

- Return economy airfare to Melbourne (with a cap of A$1500)
- One off incidentals payment of AU$150
- Up to 4 nights accommodation at Mercure North Melbourne if required, confirmed by Seed Events once flights have been finalised
- Registration including all sessions, morning and afternoon teas, lunches and the EEG Course Dinner on saturday night, 11th February

Applicants will be asked to provide a quotation for their flights, with a cap of A$1500. Preference will be given to those from resource-poor countries.

International Travel Grant Registration Included Allocation Exhausted


Neurology registrars who have previously done the EEG course, or neurologists, will be able to sit part 1 of the Asian Epilepsy Academy (ASEPA) EEG certification exam. This is a 3-hour written multi-choice exam covering all areas of EEG and may in the future become a requirement for level 2 and level 3 ANZAN neurophysiology training.

The part 2 of the Asian Epilepsy Academy (ASEPA) EEG Certification Examination exam will also be available to those who have previously passed the part 1 ASEPA exam.

Both exams will take place after the final EEG lecture-tutorial session on Sunday, February 11, between 1430 and 1730, at the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne.
