On behalf of the Epilepsy Society of Australia, we have great pleasure in inviting you to submit an abstract for 32nd Annual Scientific Meeting, which will be held in Brisbane, 31st October - 2nd November 2018.

Abstracts are invited for platform and poster presentations on all aspects of clinical, basic science or allied health studies of epilepsy. If you wish to submit an abstract for consideration by the Scientific Program Committee (SPC), you must also intend to register for the Meeting.

The major themes at the 2018 meeting will be neuro-inflammation (autoimmune epilepsy, inflammation and epileptogenesis), Trial designs and ethics in the 21st century and parietal lobe epilepsy.

The SPC reserves the right to decide the format of presentation on the basis of time and space available.

Abstracts will not be accepted if they have been previously published as a full paper.
Abstracts will not be accepted if they have been presented elsewhere more than one year before the meeting date.
A condition of acceptance is that at least one author presents at the ASM.
Abstracts are to be provided in English.

Types of Presentations
Platform (Oral) Presentation - If your abstract is accepted as a platform presentation you will be allocated a session (time to be advised) within the program.
Poster Presentation - If your abstract is accepted as a poster, you will be required to produce a poster which follows the poster guidelines.

Format for Abstracts
The body of the abstract should be structured with Objectives, Methods, Results and Conclusions. Any abbreviations should be defined where first mentioned. Abstracts will be published as submitted without any modification.

Abstracts should be a summary of the paper and must not exceed 300 words.
Do not include titles or degrees.
Check spelling and grammar.
Present sufficient data to support conclusions – it is unsatisfactory to use statements such as “data will be presented” or “results will be discussed”.
Failure to observe these requirements will exclude the abstract from consideration.

All presenters must register to attend the ASM and are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and registration expenses. A condition of acceptance is that at least one author presents at the ASM.
