THIS SERIES OF COURSES AIMS TO DEVELOP THE CAPACITY OF THOSE IN THE HEALTH SECTOR TO LEAD AND MANAGE HEALTH ORGANISATIONS DURING MAJOR INCIDENTS AND DISASTERS.
• An understanding of the key strategic issues for the health sector in responding to major incidents and disasters in NZ
• The ability to design and implement disaster health management initiatives within the health care sector
• The ability to lead and manage a multidisciplinary team, through preparation, response and recovery, during a major incident or disaster.
If course requirements are met, a Massey University Certificate of Completion will be awarded at the end of each course and 20 hours of professional development per course can be used towards competencies at the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
