Future of Food Forum

The Netherlands and New Zealand, Natural Partners

Minister Henk Kamp, Minister for Economic Affairs, from the Netherlands will lead a

high-level delegation of business leaders and organizations to meet with their New

Zealand counterparts for the Future of Food Forum in Auckland on Wednesday,

9 November 2016. Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the

Netherlands, who are visiting New Zealand from 7 until 9 November 2016 for a

State Visit, will also pay a visit to the Forum.

The Netherlands and New Zealand have much in common, in both culture and economics, particularly in

the areas of agri-food, horticulture and trade. This one-day forum organised by the Embassy of the Netherlands

will take advantage of the many parallels between the two nations with the aim of creating momentum for

exploring new opportunities where we can collaborate on the issues of sustainable food commerce in key

global markets.

The forum will include presentations and discussions between leaders from the private and public sector.

A trade display will showcase areas for further cooperation in sustainable food production, and on meeting

emerging consumer expectations of quality and brand experience. Furthermore, there will also be presentations

on product and business innovations, and promoting the knowledge and technology that underpins successful

enterprise.

As a leader, you are invited to join and participate in this unique experience at the Hilton Hotel, and then later at

Sanford Seafood Ltd.

You will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with our special guests, among others, Theo Spierings

(CEO Fonterra), Hans de Beer (President of VN)-NCW), Lain Jager (CEO Zespri),

Brent Marris (Marisco Vineyards) and Steve Maharey (Vice-Chancellor Massey University).
