IUBMB Focussed Meeting - The emerging roles of (pseudo)kinases in signal transduction Conference 2025
Tēna koutou / Greetings
We are delighted to invite you to the IUBMB Focused meeting “The emerging roles of (pseudo)kinases in signal transduction”. This meeting will take place at the Heritage Queenstown, at the heart of the majestic South Island of New Zealand, 18 - 22 August, 2025.
For the first time, we will be holding a (pseudo)kinase meeting in the Southern Hemisphere and look forward to welcoming researchers from around the world to this spectacular location. The conference will cover the latest developments in molecular mechanisms of kinase and pseudokinase regulation, which has growing prominence in the world of signaling across many areas of biology. Recent progress has brought to light many opportunities for therapeutic targeting of this intriguing kinase fold, and also broader prominence in infectious disease and plant signaling.
We have an outstanding lineup of presenters confirmed. Keynote lectures will be given by Professor Alexandria Newton and Professor Kevan Shokat (as the IUBMB Jubilee Award Lecturer). We also have a range of prominent invited speakers and plenty of speaking slots selected from abstracts. This meeting will be co-chaired by Prof Peter Mace (New Zealand), Prof Natalia Jura (USA) and Prof James Murphy (Australia). Early career engagement and family support will be a priority.
Queenstown is a place of natural beauty, and the timing of the meeting will allow for access to the tail end of the ski season, in addition to the sunshine that accompanies the start of the New Zealand spring and the other offerings of the region, such as fine wine and food. A lot of the attractions can be appreciated here
We look forward to welcoming you in Queenstown.
Prof Peter Mace (University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand)
Prof Natalia Jura (University of California, San Francisco, USA)
Prof James Murphy (Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, Melbourne, Australia)
