Katerina will discuss how the social enterprise Pollinate Energy is changing lives by providing jobs as well as clean energy to some of the poorest people on the planet through its innovative pricing strategy, as featured on ABC TV’s Four Corners program. This keynote presentation will provide you with an engaging case study that you can discuss in your economics or business classroom, with syllabus links to Business Studies (Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Social Responsibility) and Economics (Factors influencing individual consumer choice). Katerina was one of Pollinate Energy’s Co-Founders, and was based in Bangalore from 2012 to early 2016, and helped oversee Pollinate’s expansion into three cities. Upon returning to Australia, Katerina took up a position with the Clean Energy Finance Corporation as Associate Director in the Innovation Fund. Katerina is also the 2016 recipient of the The Prince of Wales Young Sustainability Entrepreneur Prize, and holds a PhD in Environmental Economics from the London School of Economics.
