Mental health experts are warning the psychological impacts from COVID-19 will be felt for years, and say Australia needs to boost its capacity to handle a long-term rise in depression, anxiety and other disorders. It is vital that health professionals are well prepared and to work together in an integrated way.

This workshop will update participants about current and future mental health issues related to coronavirus; with a focus on case discussion (health anxiety, depression relapse) and practical team treatment approaches.
We will also address maintaining the wellbeing of the treating practitioners during this time of increased demand.

A highly interactive session facilitated by Dr Cate Howell OAM plus an expert in health practitioner wellbeing.

 

Learning Outcomes:

• Describe he mental health issues generated by COVID-19

• Outline appropriate mental health assessment

Identify appropriate treatments 

• Recommend services and referral pathways
