Target audience for this event: Human service providers and frontline workers responding to VSU issues.

Please note: This event covers similar content to "What is volatile substance use?" so past participants need not apply.

Training Details: 
Volatile substance use (VSU) is a complex issue which can have a devastating effect on individuals, families and communities, particularly when used by young people.

This workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of:

  • The effects of VSU
  • Patterns and prevalence of use
  • The risks and harms associated with VSU.

It will include best-practice strategies to respond to VSU and an opportunity to explore harm reduction strategies that can be implemented at an individual, agency and community level.

 Registration information

  • While this event is free-of-charge, places are limited and application for an event does not guarantee acceptance.
  • After the event closing date, applications are assessed in relation to the stated target audience criteria. Applicants will be notified if their application has been accepted or otherwise within 48 hours of the closing date for the event.
  • Registrations may be closed earlier than the advertised time without notice, if the number of suitable applicants for the training has been reached.

 Attendance Information

  • You must have your manager’s approval to attend. 
  • All events will be held in Perth and venue details will be provided at confirmation of your acceptance for an event.
  • Only registered participants will be accepted on the day of the training event.
  • We are unable to accept a delegate on your behalf without prior arrangement.
  • We are unable to provide certificates of attendance to participants who do not complete the event.
