Paulo Alves graduated in nursing, Master in administration and management of education and PhD in Nursing from the Portuguese Catholic University.

Specialist in Community Nursing, involved in the implementation of national and international intervention projects. Interest in epidemiology and public health, has three ongoing funded projects, mainly associated with the prevention and treatment of acute/chronic wounds and health promotion.

Currently Deputy Director of the Institute of Health Sciences; Dean of the School of Nursing (Porto) Universidade Católica Portuguesa and Assistant Professor. He coordinates the National Nursing Research Platform of the Interdisciplinary Research Center in Health – Universidade Católica Portuguesa, and is also coordinator of the Wounds Research Lab. Since 2017 is the President of the Portuguese Association for Wound Treatment - APTFeridas.

Independent Consultant & Educator Wendy White WoundCare, BEd, APN, RN, FWA (AWMA) has over 30 years has over 30 years of skin & wound specific expertise in clinical, academic, industry & private practice settings. As a qualified educator, she promotes best practice quality care, provides clinical & expert advisory services & delivers keynote, or invited presentations across local, state, national & international arenas.

Wendy is committed to skin safety & injury prevention, clinicians as advocates, individualised care & wellbeing, optimising outcomes for hard-to-heal wounds & advancing debridement knowledge & safe practice skills across the continuum of care.

Wendy was appointed a Fellow of Wounds Australia (2012), in recognition of her contribution to clinical practice, education, research and leadership in wound management throughout Australia, & the Asia Pacific region.

Professor Lester Levy, CNZM, MBBCh, MBA, FRACMA, FNZIM. 

Lester is Professor of Digital Health Leadership at Auckland University of Technology, Chair of the New Zealand Health Research Council and Chair of several private healthcare companies. He is a medical doctor and MBA with a distinguished health governance and management background. Lester has served on twenty-nine boards of directors, sixteen as Chair and three as Deputy Chair as well as having been a Chief Executive three times. Lester was appointed as a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (CNZM) in 2013 for services to health and education and in 1995 was awarded a King's Fund International Fellowship from the King's Fund, London. 

Associate Professor Michelle Barakat-Johnson PhD, MN, BN, RN

is the Executive Skin Integrity Lead for Sydney Local Health District, an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Sydney and Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Huddersfield, UK.

Michelle specialises in skin integrity, implementation science and pressure injury prevention and is the founder of the first Wound Command Centre in Australia. She is currently the lead investigator of several funded studies across NSW improving outcomes for people with wounds. Michelle was awarded the Rita and Cornforth Medal for Research Excellence at the University of Sydney and the National Research Sax Award for her research into wounds and pressure injuries.

David is a lecturer in the department of Nursing, in the School of Clinical Sciences, within the Faculty of Sciences, Social Sciences, of Health and Environmental Science at the Auckland University of Technology.

David is also the Maori Lead on the Senior Leadership Team for the department providing strategic leadership, advice and support in areas such as Te Tiriti, Equity, Maori student support and success, professional development, curriculum development, and stakeholder relations.

David has a strong teaching background teaching in early childhood education at Te Kohanga Reo, then in library and information science, then earth sciences and now in health science. He is currently engaged in research in the areas of pain, psychotherapy, aged residential care, and Maori medicine in forensic mental health, and is also a traditional Maori healer, coach and practitioner.

David also occupies many positions on local and national boards, committees and working groups including Te Kaunihera Neehi Maori (New Zealand Maori Nurses Council), The Centre for Active Aging, and Te Kawa Whakaruruhau (Cultural Safety).
