Travel and accommodation

It is the responsibility of the delegate to organise their own travel and accommodation requirements to attend the conference. It is highly recommended that travel and accommodation bookings are arranged as soon as possible. 

Please ensure you follow your school/departmental travel and accommodation policies and procedures. 

Accommodation

Discounted accommodation is available at the following hotels which are located a short distance to the conference venue. These hotels are not endorsed by the department and are suggestions only.

Rooms are subject to availability at the time of booking and minimum night stay requirements may apply. Discounts may not be used in conjunction with any other offer. Bookings can only be made direct with the hotels as outlined below. Credit card details must be provided at the time of reservation to guarantee booking. Transport

Airport transfers
The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) is a 20 minute drive or approximately 25 minute train ride from the Brisbane Airport. The closest train station to the BCEC is South Brisbane. For more information visit the AirTrain website.

Public transport
Getting to BCEC via public transport is easy and efficient with bus, ferry and train options available. More information about planning your journey via public transport can be found on the TransLink website.

Train
South Brisbane Railway Station on Grey Street is the closest train station to the BCEC. Alternatively, the South Bank Railway Station is also within walking distance to the BCEC. 

Bus
The Cultural Centre Station on Melbourne Street is a the main hub for most bus routes and a five minute walk from the BCEC, adjacent to the Queensland Performing Acts Centre. The South Bank Busway Station on the corner of Colchester and Tribune Streets is also within walking distance to the BCEC.

CityCat and Ferries
CityCats operate everyday and stop at the South Bank River Terminal on the Clem Jones Promenade. The inner-city ferry travels between the CBD, North Quay and Kangaroo Point, stopping at South Bank Terminal 1 and 2 on the Clem Jones Promenade.
 
Parking
BCEC provide undercover parking for up to 1500 vehicles. Car park 1 is the closest car park to the conference registration desk and car parks 2 and 3 are best for the exhibition halls.

A dedicated taxi rank is located at the main entrance of the BCEC on the corner of Merivale and Glenelg Streets. Taxis are also accessible in other locations in the South Bank precinct including the Rydges and Mantra hotels.

Getting to BCEC

The BCEC has two entrances, one on Grey Street and the main entrance on the corner of Merivale and Glenelg Streets. The conference registration desk is in the foyer on the corner of Merivale and Glenelg Streets.

Accessibility 

The BCEC entrances can be accessed via ramp (Grey Street entrance) or lift (Merivale Street entrance). Lifts are available throughout the centre for internal access to different levels.

There will be wheelchair seating locations in the Great Hall where all keynote sessions will be held, as well as in master class session rooms.

South Bank

South Bank precinct is located in the city centre, on the banks of the Brisbane River and home to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

South Bank is the city’s green oasis and the hub for cultural and entertainment activities offering wide appeal for delegates to mix with the locals and enjoy this unique inner-city riverside precinct.
