Entrepreneur Workshop

Who are Angel Investors?

What do Angel Investors look for in an investment?

Meet Angel Investors and commence building longer term relationship.

What do you really need to do to attract investment interest from an Angel Investor?

This workshop is hosted by Melbourne Angels and will include presentations from active and experienced Angel Investors. The programme includes material developed by the Australian Association of Angel Investors to help entrepreneurs and advisors understand what is actually required when approaching an Angel Investor. AAAI is the national Association for Angel Investors and the early-stage investment community supporting the growth of new entrepreneurial ventures.

Angel Investors investing Angel Capital are generally the first 3rd party investors available to entrepreneurs to help them grow their business. The Angel Capital class is surpassing what has historically be called "venture capital".

A great misconception in today's investment market is that entrepreneurs are continually seeking “venture capital”. There is a great deal of confusion around this term, the least of which is the fact that the term “venture capital” has lost it original meaning and become synonymous with Venture Capital Firms - institutional investment funds investing other peoples’ money.

Angel Capital is a personal asset class - personal funds and time provided by Angel Investors.  However it isn’t all about securing funds. Experience, knowledge, ethics and networks are critical factors that should be considered as equally important by entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurs need to develop an understanding of Angel Capital, what Angel Investors look for and where to go to seek such funds.

Attend this workshop specifically designed to help entrepreneurs meet, network and commence relationship building with those Angel Investors who are passionate about supporting Australian entrepreneurs and providing ongoing mentoring to support their success.

AAAI acknowledges the support of Platinum Sponsor, the Victorian Government and Commercialisation Australia for their in-kind support.
