Our annual Interactive Learning in the Early Phase professional development experience for educators is back!  This year we’ll be playing, wondering and learning online with innovative and passionate educators from across Australia.

With over 12 hours of professional development experiences including Keynote Presentations on Literacy and Numeracy with Kath Murdoch and Dr Paul Swan, this is some of the best value professional development available online for Early Years teams.

Join us online from just about anywhere!  Festival highlights include:

• The Weaving texts through journeys of Inquiry in the Early Years Keynote Webinar with Kath Murdoch. Kath is the author of ‘The Power of Inquiry’ and is widely respected for her work in the field of inquiry-based learning in which she has taught, researched and published for over 30 years.

• The 'A Trajectory of Learning for Early Years Number' session with Dr Paul Swan.   Paul is one of Australia’s leading mathematics educators and the creator of hundreds of books and maths resources.  He will be kick-starting our festival with a practical session jam packed full of ideas that you can use with your young learners.

• Practical and engaging sessions featuring Early Years educators sharing their current work in Queensland schools.   These include sessions on creating cross disciplinary STEM units, implementing the digital technologies learning area and inquiry based learning in P-2.

• The Philosophy with Young Children session with Desley Alexion and Helen Bright from Buranda State School.  This team has been embedding philosophy as part of their P-6 programs for over two decades.

• The Wondering about Wellbeing session with Meridan State College’s Felicity Day.  This session will share practical approaches that weave wellbeing into every school day.

• Practical how-to sessions on apps for the Early Years including Book Creator, Seesaw and Scratch Jr.

• The chance to win prizes in randomly selected live sessions.

Please direct any questions about the festival to our Hub Events Logistics Officer Bronwen Stewart on 5490 2755.  We look forward to seeing you online throughout October and November.

Accessing the Festival

In the week prior to the festival, all registered participants and schools will receive an email containing the link and password to the festival site . This site will contain the links and passwords for each of the live and recorded sessions. It will also contain information about how participants can access a test session to test their connection. These test sessions enable our team to support you prior to the festival to ensure there won’t be technical issues when you try to access a live session. All sessions for the festival are recorded so if you miss a session or have a problem connecting, you will be able to watch it on demand.  Recordings are uploaded to the site at the end of each week.   Recordings will be available for twelve months after the festival.

Cancellation Policy

Due to the commitments made contracting presenters for the festival, a 50% cancellation fee is charged for registrations cancelled within three weeks of the festival.   Please note that a 100% cancellation fee is charged once the website and password to access festival content is provided to you or your school.
