The Contemporary Learning Hub is proud to announce the return of the Play, Wonder and Learn Interactive Learning Conference for P-2 Educators This Conference provides ideas and inspiration for making your Early Phase learning context an engaging, interactive and dynamic learning environment. To celebrate the return of our annual conference to face-to-face mode, we are bringing back the amazing Kath Murdoch to share her expertise with you. Kath is this year’s keynote speaker and will be delivering the Assessment as inquiry in the Early Years classroom. In addition to our inquiry inspired sessions, we have an awesome program once again planned for delegates including sessions on STEM, digital technologies, literacy, mathematics and creative and critical thinking.

Conference Highlights for 2022 include:​

  • The Assessment as inquiry in the Early Years Classroom keynote with Kath Murdoch.  Kath is highly respected globally for her work in inquiry based learning and is the author of ‘Getting Personal with Inquiry Learning.’
  • The Imagine Discover Together: Sparking Curiosity with STEM workshops with Baringa State Primary School’s Head of Curriculum and Digital Engineer Jo Klein.
  • The Raising Readers sessions with Davina Sharry, Head of Department for Teaching and Learning at Inala State School.
  • The Linking the Thinking with the Learning in the Early Years and Bringing Vocabulary to Life sessions with Ann Suthers, Executive Coach Brisbane Small Schools Cluster.
  • The Inquiry Learning at Graceville State School session with Head of Curriculum Belinda Martin.
  • Our STEM Playground where you can get hands on with the latest STEM resources and tech being used with P-2 learners.
  • A Conference Hall with traders showcasing the latest tech and resources for Early Phase classrooms.
  • Heaps of competitions and great prizes including a free giveaway for every participant.

Events are subject to the COVID-19 operating guidelines for Queensland State Schools.

Cancellation Policy

If the event does not proceed on the set date due to Covid restrictions, it will be offered on a future date based on the availability of our presenter. If a registered participant is unable to attend, schools are able to send another staff member in the place from their school or cluster. Please advise us if there is a change. Cancellations for this event will incur a 50% cancellation fee if within three weeks of the workshop and 70% cancellation fee if within two weeks of the conference. Due to the high costs in running this event, we will not provide any refund to participants who do not advise us of their cancellation prior to the day. Cancellations need to be made via our Hub Logistics Officer Bronwen Stewart on 5490 2755.

We encourage any participant or school booking accommodation or travel to this event to ensure they check the cancellation policies of the providers. In the event of lockdown or additional Covid restrictions coming into place, this event may be postponed, cancelled or offered as an opt-in online program.
