The Contemporary Learning Hub is proud to announce the return of our 2017 Play, Wonder and Learn Interactive Learning Conference for P-3 Educators. This Conference provides ideas and inspiration for making your Early Phase learning context an engaging, interactive and dynamic learning environment. We have an awesome program once again planned for delegates including sessions on STEAM, digital technologies, literacy, mathematics and creative and critical thinking.

Conference Highlights for 2017 include:

  • The On the Go – Getting active with Digital Tech Workshops.
  • The Full STEAM Ahead presentation with Adrian Greig from the Innovation Centre at Maleny State School.
  • The Maths Mat Workshop with Jennifer Carmichael from Golden Beach State School.
  • The Beyond the Page Storytelling Workshop with Kelly Ayres and Sally Gower.
  • The Part Tech – Part Play – Whole Learning Numeracy Workshops which will share how you can improve outcomes through effective strategies and engaging digital tools and games.
  • The From Scribble to Script and Diving into Texts Literacy Sessions with Julie Elder.
  • The Big Ideas for Little Engineers Workshops where you can build, wonder and learn how to use construction and engineering challenges to explore concepts across the curriculum.
  • The Thinking Play sessions with Michelle Scheu from Chevallum. This year she’ll be sharing how robots have taken over her classroom to encourage critical and creative thinking.
  • The Philosphy in the Early Years and I Wonder – Inquiry in the Early Years sessions. These will share creative ways you can engage your students in higher level and divergent thinking.
  • A Conference Hall jam packed with traders showing the latest resources and digital tools for Early Phase and Primary learning contexts.
  • Competitions, giveaways and prizes.
  • A free resource for every registered participant to keep and use in their own classroom context.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations for this event are to be made via Bronwen Stewart on 5490 2666.     Please note  that cancellations within one week of the conference will incur a 25% cancellation fee.    Cancellations received within 48 hours of the event incur a 50% cancellation fee.    Due to the high costs in running this event, we will not provide any refund to participants who do not advise us of their cancellation prior to the day.   Schools are welcome to send another teacher in the place of any registered participant who is unable to attend on the day.
