Economics and Business Educators NSW invites you to the 2017 EBE NSW Annual Conference at our new venue this year, the Dr Chau Chak Wing Building, at the University of Technology Sydney in central Sydney.
For many years now, this annual event has been the premier conference for teachers of Economics, Business Studies, Legal Studies and Commerce in NSW and from Australian International Schools overseas. The conference provides a unique opportunity for teachers in our subject areas to gather as a community to strengthen professional knowledge, skills and practice.
Our theme this year is “New Frontiers: Economics and Business Education in an Era of Innovation” with our first keynote speaker, Mr James O’Loghlin, speaking on the topic,“Innovation: The key to Australia’s future success”. The conference program for 2017 provides a variety of workshop opportunities on topics including HSC examination feedback and technique, effective teaching strategies for Economics, Business Studies, Legal Studies and Commerce, and content areas such as current economic conditions in the Australian economy and human resources management. There will be a two-part workshop focusing on the management skills of Human Society and its Environment (HSIE) Heads of Department in relation to developing an effective faculty.
The conference will provide teachers with valuable networking opportunities with other teachers beyond their own school. There will also be a range of exhibitors at the conference providing conference delegates with an opportunity to obtain information about the latest teaching and learning resources available for Economics, Business Studies, Legal Studies and Commerce.
EBE NSW is offering two professional learning grants for rural EBE NSW members and we encourage our rural members to apply for these grants.
The 2017 EBE NSW Annual Conference will provide a diverse range of professional learning opportunities for all participants. We look forward to welcoming you to our conference in Sydney on 21 July 2017.
