Online Session - Skills First: Suitable & Appropriate Training
Through the VET Development Centre (VDC), the current professional learning program is being adapted in response to COVID-19. We aim to meet your needs whilst ensuring our staff, presenters, the community and all those who interact with us are kept as safe as possible.
The Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET) is providing free online professional learning to teachers (trainers and assessors) and other staff directly involved in directing students to training options at Skills First providers.
Training providers delivering Victorian Skills First funded training are required to provide training that is right for students. This engaging 1-hour online session that unpacks the contractual obligations with an emphasis on Pre-Training Reviews (PTRs) and how this directly influences the training plan to support quality delivery.
*Please note - this online session is a virtual workshop and there will be no recording of the session.
Introductory (New to the topic):
These sessions are aimed at practitioners that have a broad theoretical knowledge and practical experience of training and assessment; they operate independently and seek guidance when necessary.
Participants will also ideally have a basic understanding of the current 2018-19 VET Funding Contract (extended to 31 December 2020).
