Certificate III in School Based Education Support RPL
The Certificate III in School Based Education Support—Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program gives temporary and permanent teacher aides at classification OO2 (pay point 4) the opportunity to:
- formalise their skills and experience
- progress to classification OO3 (pay point 1).
The RPL process involves assessing skills and knowledge a teacher aide has developed through their work and life experiences. It looks at their work outside of the formal education and training system, and how they contribute to a nationally recognised qualification.
Teacher aides complete the program by:
- completing the relevant Registered Training Organisation (RTO) enrolment form
- participating in an RPL conversation with the RTO
- completing the relevant knowledge and observation questions provided by the RTO
- obtaining business manager and observing teacher approval
- providing the relevant RTO with all required supporting evidence
