Engaging in Professional Reflective Practices that Reduce Stress and Burnout for Family Violence Teachers

30th Apr 2021 - 15th Sep 2021
09:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Online via Zoom, Australia

Description

The Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET) has funded the VET Development Centre (VDC) to develop and deliver specific professional learning for Vocational Education and Training (VET) managers, teachers, trainers and assessors.

What brings professionals into human service work is complex and personal. The evidence indicates that the role of professional reflective practice is a critical skillset to reduce workplace stress and burnout. This training will explore the role of professional reflective practice in self-identifying the unique personal experience of burnout and compassion fatigue.

Drawing from a range of tools and resources, this practical training will explore these concepts and using reflection discussions, encourage participants to think through the impact of human service work (and particularly the more challenging area of family violence) practice on both work and personal life.

*Please note - this online session is a virtual workshop and there will be no recording of the session.
