

Family Violence & Disability
Description
The Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET) has funded the VET Development Centre (VDC) to develop and deliver specific professional learning for Vocational Education and Training (VET) managers, teachers, trainers and assessors.
Understand the roles and responsibilities we all have to step in and support people living with disability experiencing family violence. Upskill and equip the disability workforce to recognise and sensitively respond to domestic and family violence experienced by women with disability.
*Please note - this online session is a virtual workshop and there will be no recording of the session.
Audience
These sessions are for teachers, trainers and assessors interested in delivering Prevention of Family Violence courses, from Training Providers of Accredited Training with a Skills First contract (extended to 2021).

These sessions are aimed at practitioners that have a broad theoretical knowledge and practical experience of training and assessment.

Vlasta Tezak-Brown is highly motivated professional recognised for her experience in program development in both accredited and non accredited training contexts. Her experience as a support worker informs her knowledge and skill alongside her passion for this particular work from her experience as a trainer in a small community based RTO.
Vlasta provided support to learners with a lived experience of mental health to training and accessing Disability and Aged Care qualifications.
For the past 12 months Vlasta has brought her VET skills and Community Sector skills and knowledge to No To Violence where she supports the NTV Work Force Development team design, develop and deliver family violence training to the FV sector and non sector human services. |
