2021 Urogynaecological Society of Australasia

Annual Scientific & Annual General Meeting

OFFICIALLY POSTPONED

Wednesday 23 March - Saturday 26 March 2022

For the last two months, the UGSA Executive Board has been closely monitoring the dynamic situation of COVID-19 in Sydney and more broadly New South Wales; preparing for all the possible scenarios and ensuring we have the right plans and resources in place, defined principally by the expert guidance provided by the Chief Health Officer and local public health authorities.

We remain committed to hosting an in-person event, and therefore, feel that utmost transparency and making decisions based off facts and science – relying on the experts to support our actions are paramount.

It is therefore, with much regret that we announce the postponement of this year’s UGSA ASM in Sydney (due to take place 17-20 November). I am however, pleased to announce that we have been able to secure new dates for
Wednesday 23 to Saturday 26 March 2022.

We know that the postponement will come as an enormous disappointment, not only to our delegates but also to our speakers, sponsors, and industry professionals alike. This is not a decision we have taken lightly and there are two overriding concerns that have caused us to make this decision at this time.

First and foremost, the health and well-being of all of our stakeholders remains top of mind and our highest priority. We will continue to act thoughtfully and courageously despite the disruption and uncertainty COVID-19 brings to our daily lives. Therefore, our focus remains on two key priorities: caring for the health and well-being of our stakeholders and remaining steadfast in the delivery of an in-person event.

Looking ahead, we will continue to communicate frequently with our delegates as we progress with our planning for March 2022. The entire UGSA executive leadership team remain fully committed to running the event, honest conversation, taking care of one another, and making decisions with all of our stakeholders in mind.

Once again, we thank you for your continued support as we all work through these difficult times.
