RESPOND

Stage Queensland is proud to present its annual performing arts conference over two days this June at HOTA, to explore the sector's response to "COVID normal" and exchange ideas and experiences on shared pathways to recovery.

Stage Queensland is committed to facilitating opportunities for performing arts organisations, producers, venues and presenters from across Queensland to come together. We invite the broader sector to join with Stage Queensland members for "Industry Day" on Tuesday 14th June for a day of discourse, connection, networking and professional development. Day 2 is for Stage Queensland members to talk shop about venue management and operations.

We have confirmed a great line-up of guest speakers and are pleased to announce the full program here.

Program Highlights

Tuesday 14th June - Industry Day (for Producers, Presenters)

Tuesday morning commences with a session for producers / artists only, hosted by our friends from Metro Arts and Gold Coast City Council. "Artists @ Work" and "Find your Audience" will explore new local models for commissioning and employment of artists; and important ways of connecting with audiences. Please note: there is no cost to attend the morning session if you're not staying on for the rest of Day 1.

In the afternoon, producers will be joined by presenters and Stage Queensland members for the official conference opening and a full program featuring sector updates and sessions on touring, mental health and wellbeing and skills development. It is an opportunity for producers and presenters to establish or strengthen relationships that are crucial to brokering creative development partnerships and touring opportunities, and increasing understanding of our new performing arts landscape.

Day 1 wraps up with a dinner function at The Exhibitionist - the rooftop of HOTA's spectacular new gallery. This event promises to provide some much-needed social connection and networking.

Wednesday 15th June - Stage Queensland Members Day

Day 2 of the conference is designed to support the needs of Stage Queensland members, tackling a range of issues affecting venues across the state, including career development, human resources, First Nations cultural, Arts as Prescription, programming and more. As in previous years, there'll also be plenty of opportunities for information sharing and learning from your peers, networking and discussion.

Registration includes a conference program, delegate list and contact information as well as daily catering and the networking dinner on Tuesday evening.
