Workshop: Addressing Dyslexia and Specific Learning Disorders in the Classroom
TEACHING AND LEARNING STRATEGIES
Course designers, teachers and assessors have an obligation to create inclusive learning experiences for all learners and cater to a range of learning styles.
VET programs, that are based on applied learning principals, are a great option for many students with Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) such as dyslexia.
This one-day workshop aims to provide attendees with an understanding of what SLDs are, how to identify a student with SLD, as well as insights into some of the day-to-day learning challenges these students face in the classroom.
It will also provide practical, easy-to-implement strategies that will progress student learning – without funding – to ensure that your classroom is accessible to all your students, including those with SLD.
