Bringing Courage to Family Violence

18th Oct 2019 09:00 AM - 04:00 PM
VET Development Centre, Level 8 379 Collins Street Melbourne Victoria Australia 3000

The Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET) has funded the VET Development Centre (VDC) to coordinate professional learning for Vocational Education and Training (VET) teachers, trainers and assessors delivering family violence related courses. The three workshops are:

Bringing Courage to Family Violence

Learning outcomes:

Family violence is one of the most complex and challenging subjects to teach, train and assess. This Bringing Courage to Family Violence workshop introduces the research of Professor Brené Brown on vulnerability and courage and relates it to family violence. It will provide VET teachers, trainers and assessors with an opportunity to reflect on their own values and practice.

Areas of focus:
  • Recognise that courage is a set of skills we can develop
  • Identify the importance of vulnerability in relationship to courage
  • Relate these concepts to training in the area of family violence

This workshop is for VET trainers and assessors with a Skills First contract or ACFE funding. You can check your eligibility here.
Participants must have experience delivering family violence training content.
