Skills First Contract Professional Learning Program

The Department of Education and Training (DET) is funding professional development to support contracted training providers in preparing Training and Assessment Strategies that are consistent with Standard 1 of the National Registered Training Organisation (RTO) Standards and the Users’ Guide to the Standards for RTOs 2015.

Workshop

The VET Development Centre (VDC) has developed an interactive one day workshop focussed on the knowledge and skills needed to develop comprehensive Training and Assessment Strategies which meet the 2020 Skills First contractual requirements. The 2018-19 Skills First VET Funding Contract (extended to 31 December 2020) requires training providers to develop a Training and Assessment Strategy for each course and for each cohort within a particular course. The workshop will explore the requirements of the contract and focus on the design, development and implementation of effective Training and Assessment Strategies.

Providers are encouraged to bring a hard copy of their Training and Assessment Strategy.
