Co-convenors Dr Rosemary Hall & Dr Justina Wu

On behalf of the organising committee it is our pleasure to welcome you to the conference website for the 42nd New Zealand Society for the Study of Diabetes Annual Scientific meeting and the Special Interest Group Study Days, to be held 1 - 4 May 2018 at the Distinction Hotel in Hamilton, New Zealand.

The meeting promises to be an excellent event where diabetes health professionals, researchers and policy makers can enjoy a stimulating and varied programme, as well as collegial friendship. We have confirmed and look forward to presentations from our two international keynote speakers, Dr Lori Laffel and Associate Professor Leigh Perreault and our national invited speakers Dr Matire Harwood and Dr Rob Beaglehole.

We are continuing with the new presenter award categories, with five prizes to be awarded. We encourage you to submit an abstract.

NZSSD gala dinners are always a highlight. This one, to be hosted in the westie heartland of the Waikato will not be any different. The theme was always going to be obvious…so dress like a member of the Outrageous Fortune crew.... black jeans, black "metaller" t-shirts, leopard skin, black lace, crushed velvet, leather jackets, denim, denim and more denim.... mullets and big hair.

Keep ahead of the conference information by checking our hashtag #NZSSD2018 on Twitter and following our conference managers on Facebook .

We look forward to seeing you in Hamilton next May.

Kind Regards

Drs Rosemary Hall & Justina Wu
