Hello and welcome
We are excited to invite you to attend i-Educate 2018.
This year’s conference is set to support innovation in the classroom with a menu of digital and technical solutions for principals, teachers and technical staff. It will build off last year’s inaugural conference, which was a resounding success with more than 500 delegates attending the two-day event.
The 2018 conference theme of Embrace. Connect. Innovate. will inspire you and enhance your practical skills as you discover new ways to embed digital technologies in your classroom.
The program will be bigger and better with renowned keynote speakers including Tony Ryan and Dr Jason Fox. Tony is an education futurist and will explore how artificial intelligence can be applied into everyday learning environments, while Jason will help you discover the joy of pioneering leadership, the science of motivation and the future of work to evoke quality thinking, better conversations and braver, wiser decisions.
The keynote speakers will be complemented by a range of hands on workshops which will allow you to take tech back to the classroom and challenge the current teaching paradigms. Workshops cover Minecraft, Lego, robotics, ICT leadership and BYOD to name just a few.
In a first, this year’s program features a cybersafety panel discussion. The panel includes Greg Gebhart from the Office of the eSafety Commissioner and Gayle Walters, President and Chair of P&C’s Queensland, John Dalgleish, Head of Strategy of YourTown. They will discuss cybersafety, providing valuable insights from a variety of viewpoints.
The conference will also provide you with a wonderful opportunity to network with other technology leaders within Queensland state schools.
There will be a trade exhibition, enabling you to explore the latest technology and how it can be used in your school.
I hope you take up this fantastic professional development opportunity. Whether it’s your first visit to i-Educate or you’re coming back for a second time, it will be a great two-day event.
Enjoy the conference!
