Creating A New Survey

The iVvy marketing system allows you to generate surveys to collect anonymous data about your event. There are a range of different question types for statistical reporting and analysis. Multipage surveys can be created if you wish to address different themes for each page, or just shorten the number of questions to a page.

To create a new survey

  1. Navigate Marketing > Survey

  2. Click Add Survey

  3. Name your Survey. This will be displayed internally only

  4. Select the response limit for the survey - how many times the survey can be completed. Set this as No if sending to multiple customers, and YES for an individual

  5. Select an optional Cut Off Date. The survey will no longer be active after this date

  6. Show the customer their progress while completing the survey

  7. Can Save Progress - This allows the person completing the survey to nominate a password to come back and finish the survey at a later date. 

  8. Notify on completed responses emails you whenever a survey is completed

  9. Contact name is the contact for the survey

  10. Use no reply email will send the email from iVvy's no reply address. Select No to add in your own email address

  11. The confirmation message that you type in here will appear on the screen once the survey is completed. 

Adding Questions to your Survey

  1. Once you have saved, you will be presented with the “Survey Editor”. You will notice there are two tabs, the survey and a skip logic tab. Learn more about Skip Logic

  2. Firstly you need to add a page, without a page you cannot add questions. So drag a page over to the middle of the screen to the right of the options. 

  3. When adding in a question there are a number of different question types that you can add. 

    • Dropdown: A drop-down is a drop-down bar with a list of preloaded questions. You also have the option to add an “other” box if you want to give the option to give an alternative answer. 

    • Single select: Gives a question with a vertical list of responses underneath it, with radial buttons next to them. Only one answer can be selected. 

    • Multi Select: Gives a question with a vertical list of responses underneath it, with multi buttons next to them. Multiple answers can be ticked. 

    • Single Matrix: A single matrix is a table of options that have a column and row header where you can select an answer from each row

    • Multi Matrix: A multi matrix is a table of options that have a column and row header where you can select multiple answers from each row

    • Multi Select Matrix: A multi select matrix is a table with column and row headers where you can select a drop-down of answers for each cell

    • Rating Scale: Provides a question and a display of stars where 1 - 10 stars can be selected as the answer. 

    • Small Text: Is just a small box to input a limited amount of characters into. Usually three to five word response is the limit. 

    • Large Text: Is a large paragraph box input which allows paragraph length responses. 

    • Date: Is just a date calendar field that when you click on it you select a date from a calendar or type in a date. A response other than a date is not accepted. 

    • File Upload: If you wish to collect pictures or documents such as word, presentations etc, this gives you the ability to do so. 

  4. When adding a question, you can decide on some options such as single select and multi select whether to make a template out of the answers if you are going to use them often. If you are using a rating scale, e.g. Fantastic, Great, Good, Satisfactory, then instead of having to type in the answers for each question, you can select a template each time. 

  5. Questions can be made mandatory if you want to make it that the answer has to be answered before the survey can be finished. 

  6. You can preview your survey, or exit the editor when finished. Click on the survey settings takes you back to the first steps of setting up a campaign. You can also work on the skip logic now the questions are all loaded into the system. 

Getting your Survey Link

  1. Click on Survey Settings

  2. Copy the Hyperlink

  3. Paste or email this link for customers to access
