The Parliament House Precinct has 16 different function rooms available. A Corporate event, social gathering, wedding reception, milestone birthday or Christmas Party, the Parliament House Precinct can cater for a variety of events with gourmet food and beverage options.
The Parliament House Kitchen features a wide variety of menus to suit any occasion. Our kitchen team have a wealth of experience in catering for small to large functions for all industries. The Cellar is our most intimate and private function room. The Dandiir Room is the perfect option for smaller functions, providing an intimate setting for meetings, conferences and seminars.
The Premiers’ Hall is a versatile function space boasting a permanent stage, lofty ceilings and wood panelling. The perfect location for a unique boardroom lunch or meeting. Each of our menus will have a minimum number of guests starting with just 5 people, so there is an option to suit everyone.
We do not permit BYO food or beverage.
1. Book through the Committee of the Legislative Assembly (CLA) by providing an application with event details for review
2. Have a letter or email from a member of parliament supporting your event (this does not require financial support)

Event Rooms
River Deck - Level 7 - Annexe
With breathtaking views of Brisbane River, the eponymously named River Deck is venue like to no other. Suitable for cocktail functions, receptions or informal barbeques, this venue has a maximum capacity of 320.
Green Deck - Level 7 - Annexe
With sprawling views of Parliament House, the Green Deck offers a unique outlook taking in the Speaker’s Green, gardens and the façade of Parliament House. Suitable for cocktail functions, receptions or informal barbeques, this venue has a maximum capacity of 280.
Undumbi Room
The Undumbi Room was temporarily used as the chamber whilst renovations occurred in Parliament House. As such the Undumbi Room boasts a fantastic range of features including a large projector screen, permanent stage, smart lectern, microphone and audio system. Located in the Parliamentary Annexe this space is suitable for 250 standing guests, 230 in theatre style or 150 seated at tables.
Dandiir Room
The Dandiir Room is the perfect option for smaller functions, providing an intimate setting for meetings, conferences and seminars. The Dandiir room features a projector screen, permanent stage, smart lectern, microphone and audio system. Located in the Parliamentary Annexe this space is suitable for 70 standing guests or 70 in theatre style.

The Level 5 Colonnade offers an informal setting for socialisation over morning tea or afternoon cocktails. With a striking view taking in the Speaker’s Green, gardens and the façade of Parliament House. Up to 100 standing guests can be accommodated.

The Premiers’ Hall is a versatile function space boasting a permanent stage, lofty ceilings and wood panelling. This space is suitable for 170 standing guests, 150 in theatre style or 80 seated at tables.

Premiers' and Speakers' Halls Combined
For larger functions the Premiers’ and Speakers’ Halls can be combined to allow for greater capacity. Combining the spaces allows for 400 standing guests, 310 in theatre style or 176 seated at tables.

The perfect location for a unique boardroom lunch or meeting. Speaker’s Dining Room offers a light filled space with views of Speaker’s Green and Parliament House. Up to 22 seated guests can be accommodated.

Colonnade - Level 3 - Annexe
The Level 3 Colonnade offers expansive outdoor space allowing guests to take in the fresh air and views of Speaker’s Green and Parliament House. Up to 200 standing guests can be accommodated.
Speaker's Hall
The prestigious Speaker’s Green is located at the heart of the Parliamentary Precinct. Surrounded on two sides by heritage stonemasonry and picturesque gardens, this area is capable of accommodating up to 1000 standing, 700 theatre style or 450 seated guests.
Strangers' Dining Room - Old House
Strangers' Dining Room - Old House
A very different name for a Dining Room, Strangers’ Dining Room is so called because the term “stranger” is the traditional way of referring to someone physically present in the Palace of Westminster who is neither a member of parliament nor a parliamentary official. In 2004, a motion was approved implementing the recommendation of the Modernisation Committee that the term stranger no longer be used and be replaced with either “member of the public” or “the public”. Strangers’ Dining Room features intricate parquetry floors and stunning period features. Furnished with early Australian cedar yoke back chairs which were probably used in the early refreshment room. It is possible that some of these chairs were used in the original legislative building in the old convict barracks in Queen Street. This space can seat 80 guests or accommodate 100 standing.
Lucinda Bar - Old House
The Lucinda Bar is named after the Queensland Government's paddle-steamer, the Lucinda, which was in service from 1885 to 1923. Early drafts of the Australian Constitution were drawn up under the supervision of Sir Samuel Griffith aboard the Lucinda which was moored, at the time, in the Hawkesbury River, near Sydney. The bar and some of the room's panelling came from the ship's saloon. This space can seat up to 20 guests or hold 60 standing.
Celler - Old House
The Cellar is our most intimate and private function room. Located in Parliament House the cellar has been used for decades to store boutique wines. Recently updated, the cellar offers a unique opportunity to dine amongst the wine racks. This space can facilitate 12 guests seated or 16 guests standing.
Red Chamber - Old House
The Red Chamber is available for Parliamentary bookings and approved events only. This space can seat up to 200 guests. Parliamentary rules state that catering is not available in this space.
President's Verandah - Old House
The President’s Verandah boasts stunning views overlooking the Botanic Gardens. A perfect location for networking and socialising. Up to 60 standing guests can be accommodated.
