Byron Bay is an idyllic conference destination. The Byron Community Centre is uniquely positioned in the centre of town with many cafes, restaurants and accommodation options within walking distance. Combining the 246 seat amphitheatre style Byron Theatre with 3 break-out rooms plus foyers, courtyard and verandah overlooking Jonson Street, the venue can be utilized in a variety of ways to create the ideal venue for your next conference. The whole venue can be booked as a dedicated venue for the sole use for your conference. Conference rates are available for Theatre and Meeting Room hire individually, or whole venue hire, including all audio-visual equipment & sound requirements, staffing & catering if required.

The Byron Theatre is the premier performance space in Byron, with superb acoustics, intimate atmosphere and friendly staff. The Theatre is an amphitheatre style auditorium with tiered seating for 246 people. The Theatre is fully air conditioned, has a cinema size screen with state of the art audio-visual and sound facilities, including surround sound & Digital Cinema Package format (DCP). The Theatre also owns a magnificent 1986 Steinway Grand Piano which is available for use when hiring the Theatre. The Theatre seating can be retracted to leave an open space with a 360 metre square, sprung dance floor suitable for cabaret style set up. The Events Bar and outdoor courtyard is always available for events. As a social enterprise, tickets to events in our theatre are worth a lot more than their dollar value! Every time you attend an event in our theatre you're helping us run vibrant and inclusive cultural programs for our local community.

The Wategos 1 and 2 are divided by a solid partition, which can be removed to create one large space

On the first floor on the Community Centre, adjoining the large balcony overlooking Jonson Street, Wategos 1, previously the Cavanbah Room, can accommodate up to 75 people theatre style or 36 in a Boardroom set up and is ideal for meetings, conferences, classes or special events. The current room limit is 44 persons due to 2sqm rule The facilities in Wategos 1 include: Chairs & tables that can be configured in a variety of layouts Wifi Water Cooler - currently unavailable due to Covid restrictions Whiteboard Flip Chart Board Data projector/large screen Fully air-conditioned PA system including microphone. On the first floor of the Community Centre, adjoining the large balcony overlooking Jonson Street, the 40 square meter Wategos 2, previously called the Verandah Room, is ideal for meetings, conference break-out rooms, classes or special events. The room has a circular table which can seat 18 people, or the furniture can be cleared away to allow about 30-40 people standing or with lecture-style seats. For entertainment functions, the folding doors can be opened for direct access onto the verandah. Current room limit is 10 persons due to 4sqm rule Facilities in Wategos 2 include: Chairs & tables that can be configured in a variety of layouts.
