A/Prof Lisa Hui is an obstetrician with subspecialist qualifications in maternal fetal medicine and clinical appointments at the Mercy Hospital for Women and The Northern Hospital. She is Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at The University of Melbourne and team leader in the Reproductive Epidemiology group at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.

The 2022 – 2024 Norman Beischer Clinical Research Fellowship has been awarded to Lisa  to help reduce the burden of congenital cytomegalovirus (cCMV) Infection.

A/Prof Peter Wein is an experienced obstetrician and gynaecologist in both public and private health, with an interest in pregnancy in diabetes and thyroid disease.

Aleeya is a sexologist and fertility counsellor who is passionate about normalising the conversation around sex, pleasure and fertility. Aleeya has a special interest in working with patients experiencing sexual issues relating to fertility, pregnancy. and the post partum period. She holds a membership with the Society of Australian Sexologists (SAS) and Fertility Society of Australia (FSA.)

Aleeya’s qualifications include a Bachelor and Honours in Psychological Science, and a Masters in Sexual and Reproductive Health, specialising in psychosexual therapy and reproductive endocrinology.

Associate Professor Stern is a gynaecologist and fertility specialist. She is the head of reproductive services unit at The Royal Women’s Hospital (RWH) and the Clinical Director of Melbourne IVF. She is also the head of clinical research at Melbourne IVF and the medical coordinator for the Fertility Preservation Service at RWH and MIVF. 

Associate Professor Kate Stern has coordinated the Fertility Preservation Service (FPS) at The Royal Women’s Hospital and Melbourne IVF for over 20 years. The FPS program aims to maximise fertility for women at risk of infertility and ovarian failure as a result of chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy treatment. The FPS was the first dedicated service for fertility preservation in Australia and continues to lead clinical programs and research in this area of medicine. The team have published widely in the area in peer reviewed journals and are regularly asked to present this work nationally and internationally.

Alison completed her O&G training at The Royal Women's Hospital, and London's Guy's and St Thomas Hospital. She completed an advanced laparoscopic Fellowship with A/Prof Alan Lam in Sydney, and now works publicly as a consultant at The Royal Women's, The Northern, and Joan Kirner Women's and Children's Hospitals. She is thrilled to have recently set up a multidisciplinary private practice within the new Sunshine Private Hospital. Called 'Maven Centre', it is a one-stop shop for all women's health care needs, including gynaecology, pelvic floor physiotherapy, dietetics, a pain specialist and an IVF clinician. 

Dr Bronwen Eldridge graduated from Monash University in 1987 and obtained her specialist qualification (FRANZCOG) in 1997. Initially working as both an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist she ceased private obstetric practice in 2003 to concentrate on gynaecology. She has a broad experience in general gynaecology consulting, office procedures and surgery.  

Dr Catherine Bacus is a past chair of the RACGP Specific Interest Group – Obesity Management and founder and director of Alevia Medical Weight Loss – a group of primary care clinics specialising in medical obesity management. Catherine is dedicated to alleviating the stigma and burden of obesity that patients live with, through evidenced based approaches to weight management, understanding the complex drivers of weight gain, and assisting her patients with compassion and empathy.  She has trained and mentored several GPs and is committed to educating and upskilling GPs so that more patients can access the care that they deserve.

 Dr Emma Readman completed her 2-year fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery and is head of the Endosurgery B Unit and Outpatient Hysteroscopy Unit at Mercy Hospital for Women, Melbourne. She is actively involved in research and teaching, and is an honorary lecturer with the University of Melbourne. Emma enjoyed a sabbatical in 2014 in France, Belgium and Italy studying endometriosis, laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery. Emma has been visiting Mongolia for the last 11 years by invitation of the Mongolian Society for Gynaecological laparoscopy, and has been teaching and operating there. She was recently awarded the silver friendship medal by the Mongolian President, the highest honour given to foreigners in Mongolia. Emma has published widely and was a board member of the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society. 

Dr Iniyaval Thevathasan is a maternal fetal medicine subspecialist obstetrician based in Melbourne.

Dr Thevathasan works across all aspects of complex and high-risk pregnancy care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, to care for women with medical disorders in pregnancy and in the diagnosis and management of fetal anomalies.

Ini also cares for women who are having multiple babies as well as those who have experienced recurrent pregnancy loss. She provides a pre-pregnancy counselling service and is involved in the prevention of pre-term birth. She has a special interest in the impact of inflammatory bowel disease on pregnancy. She also performs tertiary level obstetrics and gynaecology ultrasound. Ini strongly believes in person-centred and inclusive healthcare, practicing evidence-based medicine so that women can come to an informed decision about their pregnancy.

Ini is passionate about teaching and training of medical students, junior medical staff and midwives. She is interested in researching the impact of antenatal corticosteroids (used to help fetal lungs mature) on women with diabetes.

Dr Julie Lamont is a subspecialist consultant gynaecological oncologist. She is a Member of the Australian Society of Gynaecological Oncologists and a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Julie has trained in the surgical and medical care of women with gynaecological cancer; gynaecological pre-cancer; as well as general gynaecological conditions. She completed her formal three year advanced fellowship training at both Monash Health and the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne.

She ensures that she provides cutting edge care for her patients and has undertaken training in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery, as well as open surgery for gynaecological cancer and complex pelvic conditions. She is committed to providing full and multidisciplinary care for all of her patients.

Dr Lisa Fox has been a paediatrician specialising in the care of newborn babies for over 15 years. She has an ongoing interest in the long term well-being of babies born in difficult circumstances, including those born prematurely and in less developed health systems. Her current professional focus, other than her passion for caring for babies and their families, is passing on her expertise to support others in providing quality neonatal care. This includes her position as a consultant neonatologist at the Northern Hospital supporting doctors in training and medical students, as well as facilitating neonatal resuscitation training throughout Victoria with PIPER and regular trips to maternity hospitals in Mongolia.

Dr Paris Papagianis is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Respiratory Pharmacology Lab within the Biomedicine Discovery Institute (BDI) at Monash University. Paris’ research focus is broadly on lung health and disease during the early life, but she has strong interests in maternal and newborn health and disease.

Paris was awarded a joint PhD from Monash University and the University of Western Australia (2019), exploring anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic therapeutics for ventilator-induced lung injury in preterm birth care. Paris then completed a 2-year postdoctoral position studying stem cell biology. Paris studied how stem cells interact with surrounding tissue structures to facilitate normal tissue repair, or alternatively, what goes wrong during these interactions to cause disease. In 2022, Paris joined the Respiratory Pharmacology Laboratory, led by Prof Jane Bourke. Paris continues to research therapeutics for diseases associated with premature birth, and actively collaborates with researchers from The Ritchie Centre, Hudson Institute of Medical Research, Melbourne Uni and the Uni of WA investigating mechanisms. 

Dr Pav Nanayakkara is an advanced minimally invasive gynaecological surgeon with specialisation in endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, laparoscopic transabdominal cerclage, abnormal uterine bleeding and complex hysterectomy.

Pav acquired her medical degree at Monash University and undertook her internship and residency at The Alfred Hospital prior to her obstetrics and gynaecology training at The Royal Women’s Hospital. Pav completed a 2.5 year fellowship in advanced minimally invasive surgery at Epworth which provided further training in hysteroscopic, laparoscopic and robotic techniques.

Pav works through Jean Hailes Women’s Health and operates at Epworth Freemasons. She is also one of the consultant surgeons with the Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Unit and a Clinical Lead of the Ambulatory Gynaecology Unit at The Royal Women’s Hospital. She is a RANZCOG training supervisor and has received national awards for her work in mentorship, wellbeing, teaching and research.

Rachel Ryan is a private obstetrician and gynaecologist at Epworth Freemasons, and obstetrician at St Vincent’s Private Hospital

She has a public appointment at The Royal Women’s Hospital which includes teaching students and trainees and is part of the Women’s and Children’s Clinical Institute Executive at Epworth HealthCare.

Rachel’s interests include high and low risk pregnancy and all aspects of general gynaecology, including colposcopy and laparoscopic surgery.

Samantha is a generalist obstetrician and gynaecologist with particular interest in high risk/special needs obstetric care, minimally invasive gynae, surgery, heavy menstrual bleeding, & global women's health. Deputy Chair of the Barbara May Foundation, member of Medical Panels, senior gynaecologist at The Women's Hospital, member of Epworth executive. Training supervisor at Epworth and the Womens.

Dr Stephen Cole is an experienced obstetrician and gynaecologist with an interest in low to high risk pregnancy care, multiple pregnancies, recurrent miscarriage evaluation and treatment, maternally-assisted caesarean section, maternal-fetal medicine and fetal surgery consultation.

Dr Lee is Director of the Women's and Children's Clinical Institute, Epworth HealthCare and Chair of Obstetrics, Epworth Freemasons.

Her interests are high risk obstetrics, laparoscopic surgery, general gynaecology including colposcopy and menstrual disorders, menopause.

Group Chief Executive Professor Andrew Stripp brings extensive health leadership experience gained over 30 years. Commencing his career as a Clinical Psychologist, Andrew was most recently the Chief Executive at Monash Health, Victoria’s largest and most comprehensive health service comprising nine hospitals and 46 community-based sites. Throughout his career, Andrew has led the delivery of high-quality and safe health services, while advancing excellence in academic research and clinical education. Prior to joining Monash Health, Andrew was the Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer at Alfred Health. Andrew has also worked in various government departments and consulted to hospitals and health care systems nationally and internationally.

Belinda Beck is a Professor in the School of Health Sciences & Social Work and member of the Menzies Health Institute Queensland at Griffith University, Gold Coast campus where she has taught musculoskeletal anatomy and conducted bone research for over 20 years. Belinda graduated from The University of Queensland with a degree in Human Movement Studies (Education) and from the University of Oregon (Eugene, Oregon, USA) with a Master of Science (Sports Medicine) and a PhD (Exercise Physiology). She completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in the Stanford University School of Medicine (California). Her work, primarily related to the effects of mechanical loading on bone, has involved both animal and human studies, from basic to clinical research. She has been awarded over $3M in research funding, published over 100 scientific papers, and presented almost 200 abstracts at conferences and symposia nationally and internationally. Most recently Belinda, with her Griffith colleagues, published the results of the LIFTMOR, LIFTMOR-M and MEDEX-OP clinical trials which re-established the benchmark of exercise as therapy for osteoporosis and low bone mass. Belinda established The Bone Clinic Pty Ltd in 2015 to roll out this groundbreaking program of research as ONERO which had now been licenced to practitioners around Australia on a mission to prevent osteoporotic fracture.

Dr Beck serves on the Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee of Healthy Bones Australia (formerly Osteoporosis Australia), and the Healthy Bones Australia National Consumer Advisory Committee. 

She is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA), Sports Medicine Australia (SA) and the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR).

Professor Susan Davis is a clinician researcher with expertise in the role of sex hormones in women across the lifespan. She is Head of the Monash University Women’s Health Research Program and holds a Level 3 NHMRC Investigator Grant. Susan is a Consultant Endocrinologist and Head of the Women’s Endocrine Clinic, Alfred Hospital Melbourne and a consultant at Cabrini Medical Centre. She is a Fellow and Council Member of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences.

Susan’s research spans basic science to clinical trials and has been pivotal in our understanding of sex hormones in women in multiple non-reproductive target tissues including the brain (cognition, mood, sexual function), cardiovascular system (lipids, vascular function and coagulation) and other tissues (fat, muscle, joint cartilage and bone). She leads a research program supported by the NHMRC, MRFF and the Heart Foundation.

Susan was one of five founders of Jean Hailes for Women, and is a past President of the Australasian Menopause Society and the International Menopause Society. She has over 435 peer-reviewed publications and has received numerous national and international prestigious research awards. Susan was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia for  distinguished service to medicine, to women's health as a clinical endocrinologist and researcher, and to medical education.

In 2022 she was awarded the Medal of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians for her outstanding contribution and leadership in endocrinology and women’s health.

She is an advisor to the NHS Menopause Improvement Programme Steering Committee and was an advisor for the Australian National Women’s Health Strategy 2020-2030. She advocates for best clinical care via co-authorship of international Best Practice Guidelines (>20) and working with industry to ensure the health needs of women are understood. She has spoken before national (TGA) and international regulatory bodies, FDA (US) and EMA (Europe) as an advocate and advisor. 

Yvette Raymond is a MD-PhD candidate with Monash University in the final year of her PhD. Yvette enrolled in undergraduate Medicine at Monash University in 2017. After completing her BMedSc (Honours) year in 2021, chose to continue her research into a PhD candidature under the supervision of  A/Prof Daniel Lorber Rolnik, Dr Shavi Fernando and Prof Ben Mol and Dr Melody Menezes at Monash Health. Her research is focused on the topic of cell-free DNA prenatal screening, more colloquially known as non-invasive prenatal testing or NIPT.
