Lotus Galeries’ menu is a rich tapestry of new world Shanghainese with a generous nod to Cantonese cuisine, local Australian produce and modern cooking techniques. The Galeries pastry team delight guests by infusing Asian flavours with a contemporary take.

Our customisable event menus allow you to make your event as extravagant, opulent or classic and simple as you need it to be. With interactive food stations to premium banquet menus and an array of canapés for cocktail events available, at Lotus Galeries we make sure we’re the right fit for your occasion.

The Blue Lady Room is our largest private dining space which can cater for up to 40 guests seated for a full banquet. It’s also perfect for cocktail events with a fully closing door and massive sideboards for platters, cakes – whatever you need! If it’s corporate, leave the AV to us. If It’s a birthday, leave the cake to us. No matter how extravagant or how classic you want your event to be; the team have got you covered.  If you’ve got an even larger group, we can open the door and your group can spill out by up to 70 people for a large banquet dinner or up to a 100 for a cocktail event.

Fish Bowl, with a fully closing glass door, this intimate room can seat groups of 4-8 guests whilst still be ‘connected’ the buzz and excitement of the dining room and Galeries building. Whether it be for an important meeting or a special occasion, the Fish Bowl really helps to step your dining experience up a notch.

Yin Yang which is directly opposite the Queen Victoria Building, you’ll have views of lovely sandstone in this uniquely decorated space. Seating up to 20 guests maximum, the Yin Yang Room is intimate, yet spacious featuring natural ornaments and bold artwork. This room is perfectly suited for a projector and screen if required.

Fully private, the White and Black Rooms can accommodate up to 12 guests maximum on circular tables. With large sideboards and earthy tones, these spaces are versatile and functional. Perfect for confidential meetings or private get-togethers – the carpet rugs help maintain intimacy and quiet.

Lotus has a very talented team in our pastry kitchen in Darlinghurst who would love to make a cake for your special celebration. Whether it be one of our most popular in the range or something completely bespoke, we'll ensure your guests are fed and impressed. Please contact the team for more information. If you'd prefer to bring your own cake, we charge a small fee of $3pp and will present, cut and serve your cake for you. Please note that our storage space may be limited dependant on venue and other circumstances. Planning a wedding? Please talk to us.
No, all Lotus venues are fully licensed and have a range of packages available to suit almost all needs and desires! If you'd like something customised, please don't hesitate to reach out to the team.
Lotus has access to some of Sydney's best designers should you require professional decoration or theming. We'd be happy to put you in touch with some fantastic florists and styling professionals. None of our venues have rigging points in the ceilings. Most venues kindly request no glitter / confetti be used and have restrictions on open flames. Please check with the team, however, as it can differ from venue to venue.
All Lotus venues are family friendly. Mocktail, soft drink & juice packages are available and our talented chefs would be happy to modify many dishes to be more child friendly. Please include all guests (including children) when quoting guest numbers so we can ensure we find the right space for you.
As a qualified and highly experienced team, we ask that you leave the cooking up to us - we'll make sure it's delicious! This also helps us to avoid any issues with cross contamination, food storage and of course, cleaning!
Of course! Not everything has to be a party! (Although it would be more fun if that weren't true). You can make most restaurant bookings online or directly through our reservations team. Please see our website for venue specific contact details
We consider all of our venues to be smart casual - having said that; if this is your event, you can make it whatever you want to be! Enclosed shoes are generally a good minimum to work off... dress-ups always keeps us entertained!
It can differ from venue to venue and from function to function. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
The Gardens by Lotus is one of our more unique venues located in the stunning Chinese Garden of Friendship in Darling Harbour. In order to maintain the beautiful surrounds and to assist with the upkeep, all guests wishing to view the Gardens before, after or during their event must pay admission (or have their event organiser arrange this beforehand). Adults have a standard admission of $6.00 with children (under 12) being charged $3.00, but please contact us as we may be able to source large event discounts. Alternatively, if you're just using the Lotus operated areas (eg. at night time), no admission fee needs to be paid - we'd suggest giving it a go though, it's a truly unique little gem. o hire the whole Gardens for exclusive use, or for other Pavilions not operated by Lotus, please contact the Chinese Garden of Friendship directly
Our chefs are seasoned professionals with great knowledge and experience. With notice, we can adjust most dishes to suit almost anyone, and if not, we'll create something that's appropriate specifically for these people. Given the style of cooking and high volumes, we cannot 100% guarantee that cross-contamination will not occur. Epi-pens are encouraged for all guests with allergies and we recommend not taking the risk should the allergy be life threatening.
All our venues have disabled access and disabled bathrooms. Should you be in a wheelchair, however, prior notice is always appreciated so we can ensure sufficient space is provided.
We accept Mastercard, Visa, JCB, AMEX & UnionPay. EFT payments are also available with details being provided on your invoices. Credit card payments can be made over the phone or in-venue (with prior notice).
