Short Hotel Group has made sure that the community remain at the core of the pub and who we are. By giving the venue a fresh new look, a fantastic new menu and a wider selection in the bars, the Royal is breathing new life back into the pub scene on Norton Street as well as the hospitality scene in the Inner West as a whole.

The Royal joined the W. Short Hotel Group portfolio in July 2013. Since the acquisition, the family owned Group has completed stage 1 of the refurbishment project with the opening of The Royal Botanical bar, dining and terrace on level 1.

Whether it be a private party, corporate event, Christmas party, engagement or birthday celebration, The Royal offers unique, versatile and flexible function spaces to ensure your event is a memorable one. From The Royal Botanical bar, The Grand Dining Room, The Garden Terrace, The Club Room or The Wheel and Barrow rooms, our functions manager will happily work with you to design and create your ideal function. The venue can accommodate a range of sit down or cocktail style events for up to 150 people.
