Dr. Dimitri Beeckman is a Professor of Nursing Science at Ghent University in Belgium and Örebro University in Sweden, where he also serves as Pro-Vice-Chancellor for International Affairs and Strategies. He leads the Skin Integrity Research Group and the Swedish Centre for Skin and Wound Research, focusing on skin integrity, clinical trials, and implementation science in wound care. A past president of the European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (EPUAP) and the International Skin Tear Advisory Panel (ISTAP), he will assume the presidency of the European Wound Management Association (EWMA) in March 2025. With over 250 publications and global keynote presentations, he holds fellowships at the European Academy of Nursing Science (EANS) and the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN). He also serves as an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Nursing Studies and is a member of editorial boards of several wound care journals.

Kylie is Associate Professor, Centre for Personalised Medicine, Murdoch University and Honorary Senior Lecturer, School of Medicine, Cardiff University. She is Founder and President of a not-for-profit association, the International Surgical Wound Complications Advisory Panel (ISWCAP), recipient of the JWC Most Progressive Society Award 2025. Kylie is a Research Scientist and Chief Investigator of several clinical trials (Phase 1-IV) investigating early detection, prevention and management of surgical wound complications.

She has Chaired and co-authored over 5 international clinical consensus documents, first authored over 30 original research papers and chaired the ISWCAP Global Guideline for Postoperative Incision Care. She is a regular peer reviewer for Q1 journals and serves on several journal editorial boards and industry advisory panels. She was acknowledged internationally for her contribution to the field of surgical site infection prevention as the 2021 Winner of the Journal of Wound Care World Union Innovation in Surgical Site Infection Award.

Terry Swanson completed her undergraduate work in the USA before immigrating to Australia. She was endorsed by NBV in 2003 and Victorian Government in 2004 as one of the first Nurse Practitioners in her state and specialty of wound management. Terry was admitted as a Fellow of the Australian Wound Management Association in 2010 for her significant contribution to wound management at a state, national and international level. She is the current Chair of the International Wound Infection Institute (IWII).

Terry has published and presented on chronic wounds and wound infection nationally and internationally. She was the co-author and co- editor for the book Wound Management for the Advanced Practitioner.

In 2023, Terry and her colleagues formed the Australian Wound and Skin Alliance and hosted their first Summer School in February 2024.  She is the inaugural Chair. She has held positions of responsibility of various nursing and wound related boards locally, nationally, and internationally. Terry loves to share her knowledge and passion of helping to heal and provide best practice.
