The 2017 Principals’ Conference will be held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre from 1 – 3 March. The conference registration desk will open from 4 pm on Wednesday 1 March. Principals arriving to the Gold Coast early are encouraged to take advantage of this. A welcome function will follow registration at 5.30 pm.

 

The conference theme ‘Every student, every school: lighting the path for innovation, equity and impact’ will focus on how we lead the way together, into a future of sustained continuous improvement, equitable opportunities and innovation.

 

The conference program will begin at 8.30 am on Thursday 2 March and will conclude at 3 pm on Friday 3 March.

Eligibility

The following delegates are invited to attend the two-day conference:

  • Queensland state school principals and heads of campus and school
  • Department of Education and Training Executive Management Board members
  • Assistant Director-Generals
  • Regional Directors
  • Assistant Regional Directors
  • invited education stakeholders.

Conference Fees

Conference fees are based on school bands and will be advised when registering. Fees for all state school principals will be direct debited from their school’s account after the conference. All other attendees will be invoiced after registering.

Conference app

A conference app will be available to all delegates in February 2017. The app will be accessible on laptops, computers, tablets, Apple and android devices and will provide information about the conference including the program and pre-conference reading material. Complimentary wi-fi will be available at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre during the conference.

Registering on the day

Conference packs will be available for collection at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre Principals’ Conference Registration Desk during the following times:

  • Wednesday 1 March 2017 – 4 pm to 7.30 pm
  • Thursday 2 March 2017 – 7 am to 9 am
  • Friday 3 March 2017 – 7 am to 9 am

Lanyards will be given to delegates upon registration. Please ensure you wear your lanyard at all times in the venue.

Special requirements

Every effort will be made to ensure delegates with special needs are catered for. Should you require any specific catering, please include the relevant details when you register online.

In the past, conference organisers have released details of the registrants to sponsors and exhibitors to facilitate communications between delegates, sponsors and exhibitors. If you do not wish your details to be released in this way, please let us know.

About Us

The Community Engagement and Partnerships (CEP) branch of the Department of Education and Training is responsible for the delivery of the 2017 Principals’ Conference. CEP holds responsibility for all corporate communication, marketing, event management and media activities for the Department of Education and Training.
