The 2017 Principals’ Conference will provide an opportunity for all state school principals, as a community of professional educators, to further their individual learning and advance their own school improvement journey.

The theme for the 2017 Principals’ Conference is Every student, every school: lighting the path for innovation, equity and impact. It will focus on how we lead the way together, into a future of sustained continuous improvement, equitable opportunities and innovation.

At the conference, delegates will be: 

  • inspired by critical thinking and encouraged to generate and challenge ideas;
  • motivated by innovative and interactive learning;
  • provided with opportunities to network and engage with peers;
  • awoken to the diverse perspectives of speakers and colleagues;
  • challenged to consider achieving new professional heights;
  • taken on a learning journey with leadership and school improvement as its landmarks.

The conference program includes an exciting line up of national and international speakers including:

  • Professor John Hattie, Professor of Education and Director, Melbourne Education Research Institute, University of Melbourne
  • Dr Adam Fraser, Author of the Third Space
  • Liz Ellis AM

In addition, the conference will offer masterclasses on a range of topics, each to be led by an expert speaker/facilitator.

- Registration open from 4 pm

- Welcome function: 5.30 pm – 7 pm

Thursday 2 March 2017

- Conference: 8.30 am – 4.15 pm

- Conference dinner: 6.45 pm – 10.30 pm

Friday 3 March 2017

- Optional activities: 6.15 am – 7 am

- Conference: 8.15 am – 3 pm
