How to Book

To book a room, guests need to email the Reservations team directly at groups [AT] cairnscolonialclub.com.au and quote Booking Reference number 2949924. No special fare will be offered to guests who directly book on the hotel website. The number of rooms is limited, and rooms will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

About Cairns Colonial Club Resort

In the heart of the Tropical North, nestled between pristine reef and ancient rainforest, lies the beautiful city of Cairns. Set on 11 acres of tropical rainforest gardens, the iconic Cairns Colonial Club Resort is conveniently located just 8km south of the Cairns Airport and 5km north west of the shops, restaurants, waterfront boardwalks and reef departure points of the Cairns city precinct.

VISA Information

Please note most international guests will require a visa to enter Australia.

You are advised to apply for your visa as early as possible as they can take at least 4-6 weeks to process. Please visit HERE to ascertain the relevant visa for your visit.

Letter of Invitation:

 

Only some passports require a letter of invitation.    Should you require a letter of invitation to support your visa application or participation, please email info [AT] meeting-makers.com and a letter will be emailed to you. Please note that only registered delegates who have paid their conference registration fees can be issued a letter of invitation. Such an invitation is extended specifically to assist participants to obtain travel funds, appropriate visas, approvals, sponsorship or official leave. It does not imply a commitment on the part of the organisers to provide any support, financial or otherwise.  For those that require an invitation letter please send the below details with your request as they must be included in the letter:

  • Work Address
  • Passport number
  • Issuing Country of Passport

If you are staying after the conference and travelling to another location you may need a letter from the other destination.

Arrival

Cairns International Airport is 5.1 km away, a 9-minute drive from the venue.

If you are coming from the ICG in Melbourne, there are many flights per day to Cairns. 

A Taxi will cost approximately $15- $20 one way to the venue.

Currency

The Australian Dollar is the accepted form of currency.

Credit cards are widely used.

Electricity

You will need to use a Type I plug for Australia.  This has three flat pins in a triangular pattern. Australia operates on a 240V supply voltage and 50Hz.
